NCVO (The National Council for Voluntary Organisations) believes passionately in the voluntary and community sector. This is a sector with the power to transform the lives of people and communities for the better. NCVO has several specialist teams who provide information, advice and support to others working in or with the voluntary sector. These teams produce publications, briefing papers and guidance notes; run conferences and seminars; and offer a range of practitioner forums.

The main objectives of the society are to promote and foster interest in fire brigades and their organisation, stations and appliances and to enable members to enlarge and develop their knowledge of all aspects of the fire service. The principle activity of members is the exchange of photographs and general information about appliance fleets, stations and general fire brigade affairs, both past and present. This is done partly through the medium of our illustrated journal "Fire Cover" and by members corresponding with each other.

First published in January 1999, AVIATION FIRE JOURNAL is the largest and only independent professional publication focused on Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF), aircraft fire safety and airport fire protection.
