North Weald Fire Rescue has been established since 1987, as a non profitable volunteer group, providing aviation fire cover to the residents of North Weald Airfield.
This service is totally funded by it’s founders, assisted by occasional donations.
During this time we have covered a number of air shows
including
- Fighter Meet 1987 - 96
- Orsett air show 1996 - 97
- North Weald 1998 - 99
- Kemble 2001
- Aerofair at North Weald
- Aero Expo at Wycombe Air Park
These shows have included aircraft from all over the world from ancient biplanes to the most up-to-date
military hardware
We have been involved in providing cover for a number of feature films / television series and adverts / photographic features / other events at North Weald Airfield & around the country.
Including:
Our crew members all have aviation or emergency service backgrounds with a wealth of experience gained over the past years
Our Mission Statement:
- To provide a service able to respond when requested to an emergency, through the provision of appropriate fire appliances, equipment and personnel properly qualified in their use
- To provide and maintain an emergency fire and rescue service for the benefit of the public.
- To promote fire, personal and airfield safety.
- To encourage knowledge and expertise within the field of airfield safety.
Our current vehicles are able to meet CAA standards and can be hired for extended periods
